re: content, presentation,
features, functions, and
suggested modifications/enhancements!
www.riverbankwoods.org was developed
for the community by Mike Morgan and Paul Kang, River Bank Woods homeowners and
volunteers. We took the following approach to keep it
manageable and fun:
-
Understanding how River Bank Woods is organized. We
reviewed the HOA documents and spoke to
Toll Brothers and Cardinal Management.
-
Building an initial Web site. We developed a Web site
prototype using Microsoft FrontPage 2002. We discussed and refined it.
The idea is to be the consolidator and on-line publisher of content.
The Web site is the vehicle for communication.
-
Marketing the Web site. "Marketing Blitz" -
in the first River Bank Woods Newsletter. "Marketing Plug" - mention in next letter to all
homeowners. "On-Going Marketing Effort" - we ask that
www.riverbankwoods.org be included in all correspondence with the community
- to provide an on-going marketing effort, increase awareness & usage,
improve content & presentation, and build a sense of community.
-
Maintaining/enhancing the Web site. At regular intervals
(initially more often), posting content and continuously improving the
content, presentation, features, and functions of the Web site. In the absence of a community clubhouse or meetingplace, we plan to meet on a
regular (and social) basis at one of our houses to discuss Web site content,
presentation, and potential modifications/enhancements.
-
Maintaining on-line/"softcopy" vs. hardcopy. It's easier,
less expensive, and more environmental to maintain/enhance the Web site
only. However, not everyone has Internet/WWW access. In fact,
some steer clear of the Information Superhighway! In the absence of a
hardcopy newsletter, print-outs of Web site content may be provided upon
request.
-
Respecting privacy. This
Web site is public domain. Many folks want to maintain privacy with
respect to home address, phone number, and/or e-mail address. We would never post such information without
permission from the individual. Home address is probably not
necessary. Phone number is optional. There is the
option of a group or individual e-mail address using the domain name (@riverbankwoods.org)
to be checked directly or to be forwarded to a home or work e-mail address.
