The HOA will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, and drinks.

If your last name begins with A through K, please bring a dessert.

If your last name begins with L through Z, please bring a side dish.

We have arranged for Sterling Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) to make a visit again this year.  "Tanker 618" and/or "Tower 611" and some heroes will stop by, hook up to the fire hydrant, and launch H2O up into the sky and down onto the kids (of all ages!) in the street!!!

Safety:  Walkers, runners, and bikers WERE in great danger of getting struck by vehicles traveling along River Bank Street

Pedestrian and bicycle facilities:  "River Bank Trail" – Approximately one-third (1/3) mile of pedestrian and bicycle trail (consisting of concrete sidewalk since it IS in the VDOT right-of-way (ROW)) along River Bank Street (Rte 2270) to safely connect Rivercrest HOA (385 homes), River Bank Woods HOA (78 homes), and Lowes Point HOA (36 homes) to the existing "Algonkian Trail" sidewalk/trail system along Algonkian Parkway (Rte 1582).

BOTTOMLINE:  River Bank Street sidewalk is COMPLETE!  Construction began on Monday, March 29th and completed on Friday, April 23rd :)

The chronological details:  After we did not receive full or partial funding from the Federal/VDOT SAFETEA-LU grant program in 2008 :(, our request for Loudoun County to use developer cash proffers as the funding source for a sidewalk along River Bank Street ("River Bank Trail (sidewalk)"; a need, not a want, for safety) passed the Loudoun County Transportation/Land Use Committee, was approved for Public Hearing by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, and was addressed at the Public Hearing on Monday, February 9th, 2009 (the RBW HOA petition in support of this effort was a BIG help) and approved by the BoS – the first use of developer cash proffers in Loudoun County; since, we have experienced LoCo & VDOT design & construction delays from spring, to summer, to fall, to late fall, to late-late fall, to winter, to spring – yes, 2010!

I like to think of it this way: We don’t own the land, we don’t have the money, but we GOT a sidewalk!

We are very happy to report that Rivercrest HOA is offering swimming pool memberships for $600 per household for the summer of 2010, for max 10 outside memberships total (i.e. the 10 memberships are NOT exclusive to River Bank Woods HOA), and the opportunity to swim on the Rivercrest Riptide swim team, in its 4th season.  Memberships are on a first-come, first-served basis.  Priority will be given to the families that joined the Rivercrest pool in 2009.  If more than 10 families apply, a random lottery will be conducted by the Rivercrest Board of Directors to determine membership.  The cost to join the team is $115 per swimmer in addition to the $600 family membership.  If the maximum of 135 swimmers has been reached from Rivercrest residents by May 9th, there will be NO outside members able to join the swim team.  Applications must be submitted by 8 a.m. on May 10th. JUMP - ERR, DIVE/SWIM - AT THIS OPPORTUNITY!!

We are very happy to report that we will continue our arrangement with Great Falls Chase HOA for the summer of 2010.  As before, there will be swimming pool memberships for $400 per household per season; first-come, first-served, for max 50 (of 78 total) River Bank Woods HOA households.  JUMP - ERR, DIVE/SWIM - AT THIS OPPORTUNITY!!
